Educators for the future
The 17,000 SF two story expansion houses active learning classrooms and student collaboration space to support cutting edge and daylight-flooded labs for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Anatomy and Physiology. In the existing North and West Buildings, 29,000 SF of renovated space provided new homes for Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, and X-Ray Technology.
The result is a simple yet bold addition and comprehensive renovation to existing mid-1960’s lab buildings. Drawing from context to create a seamlessly integrated point of entry to the campus, the design inserts seating and daylighting into existing circulation patterns to enhance visibility, spawn serendipitous encounters, and encourage impromptu collaboration among students and faculty.
