The Athletic, Wellness, and Event Center project transformed the John Carroll University campus with over 100,000 SF of space, adding to the existing Recreation Complex facilities with a new indoor fieldhouse as well as renovating existing space for a new Exercise Sciences and Biomechanics Lab.

The fieldhouse supports competitive track-and-field events with a 200-meter indoor track. Within the infield of the track are 4 multi-purpose sports courts to serve the needs of various student activity groups, such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, and pickleball. It also serves as an event space to host graduations and other events for the larger community.

Additional program spaces include a new wrestling room with supporting fitness and locker rooms as well as a new athletic training and exam room, a hydrotherapy tank, flexible team gathering spaces, and a conference room.

“From our initial programming and conceptual design discussions, Bostwick Design Partnership demonstrated an impressive ability to listen to our ideas and transform them into a cohesive design vision. Their diligence, creativity, and flexibility in responding to changes were evident at every stage of the project. They consistently went above and beyond to help us achieve our goals.”
