Beautiful infrastructure.

On the roof of the building are the cooling towers, air vents, and some additional miscellaneous equipment. In direct contrast with the base, the light, ephemeral, and semitransparent stainless steel screen surrounds the roof-top equipment. The form of the building responds to the regulating geometry of the FAC and of Conklin Hall to the South.

Its curving, lenticular shape minimizes the visual impact of the large mechanical building while maintaining a deep interior space for equipment placement. Finally, this shape creates the exterior lines needed to frame the adjacent outdoor spaces.
