“best ice in Erie.”
In recognition of this vital amenity for the Erie hockey and skating community, a state-issued RACP grant of $2 million was provided to the Zoo for a new ice-refrigeration system, ice-rink floor, interior renovations, and new entrance.
Due to the extreme constraints of this project, Bostwick utilized IDP – Integrated Project Delivery at the forefront of schematic design, igniting collaboration between the owner, architect, and consultants. A detailed work-plan was drafted for daily milestones to ensure the project stayed on track without sacrificing the quality of design. Further, a full cost-estimate was completed at the end of each phase, breaking out “alternate costs” to secure base bids were within the RACP grant.
