The renovation and expansion of Owens Community College’s former Library and AV Classroom Buildings created an 87,000 SF centralized School of Nursing and Health Professions, uniting ten health science programs in a modern, simulation-based learning environment that promotes collaboration, adaptive reuse, and workforce readiness.
Academic programs include Nursing, Dental Hygiene, STNA (State-Tested Nurse Aide), Radiography, MRI, Sonography, Medical Assisting, Physical Therapy Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assisting, and Surgical Technology. The facility integrates state-of-the-art teaching labs, simulation technology, and medical equipment that mirror real-world clinical settings.
Interprofessional Education labs allow students from multiple disciplines to collaborate in simulated healthcare team environments. Repurposing the former Library and Audiovisual Classroom Center extends the life of existing campus assets while transforming communal areas into collaborative and social spaces that support student and faculty interaction.
