The Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center is dedicated to helping individuals gain or regain their ability to communicate through their Audiology, Community Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Speech-Language Pathology departments. CHSC also provides the facilities and clinical supervision for the graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology for Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Communication Sciences.CHSC is a complex building with many interrelated programmatic elements. The mix of functions includes gathering spaces, public outreach, highly technical workspaces, clinical, therapeutic, educational and administrative spaces. The exterior design is challenged to respond to the urban influences while maintaining a logical and intuitive interior floor layout.
