Union City Downtown Gateway
Union City Pride Inc.
Creating a gateway.
Bostwick Design Partnership was selected by Union City Pride Inc. to provided architectural services for conceptual drawings and cost estimates for Union City’s Downtown Gateway. This gateway is located within Pennsylvania’s US Route 6 Heritage Area and the National Register-listed Union City Historic District.
The goal of the project is to establish compelling and inspiring improvement concepts for the northern entrance of Union City’s commercial district by: tying in the existing architecture and history of the downtown; paying homage to the iconic Union City Dinor; enhancing and visually connecting the northwest, southwest, and southeast corners of the gateway location, as well as the municipal parking lot located southwest of the intersection; providing re-use options of the Ohrn Building at 46 N. Main Street and the adjacent Union City Dinor property; aligning with the goals of the Union City Historic Preservation Plan; encouraging motorists to enter and explore Union City’s downtown businesses and green space.
