Recital Hall

The Pennsylvania State University

Top 10 sound.

The centerpiece of the project is a new recital hall optimized for acoustics. The form is based on the ‘vineyard style’ of surround seating, distinctive for a hall of this size. This allows for the audience members to engage more directly with the performers on stage – an ideal and unique opportunity for students and masterclasses. The hall incorporates state-of-the art technology for plug & play student recording, professional recording, and livestreaming of concerts and other events. Theatrical and environmental lighting systems, as well as adjustable acoustic treatments, enable the hall to adapt to a variety of ensemble sizes and other uses.
