Rice Branch

Cleveland Public Library

Inviting transparency.

The Rice Branch of the Cleveland Public Library system is a small building asked to provide a significant presence on a large and important corner site. CPL wished its design to invite public use, to communicate the value of literacy, and to express a welcoming availability of the library as a community resource. The design process included many private, public, city, and neighborhood constituent groups represented on the CPL’s project steering committee.
