In order to bring the Surgery Department up to modern standards, the flagship hospital, UPMC Presbyterian, embarked on a new state-of-the-art hybrid operating room. This room provides the space, equipment, and safety measures required to complete complex interventional procedures. These procedures are vitally important to meet the growing demand for shorter recovery times and reduced infection rates.In addition to the operating room, several other supporting rooms and functions are included in this suite., including a control room, equipment room, graft storage room, and department supporting spaces such as a neurological storage room and a point-of-care laboratory.
